Building an email list is important for most businesses. Email allows you to reach your customers directly, immediately, and for free. Linking out is huge. Don't be a link hoard; you're going to create content, so use it to gain favor with other people. I'll go more into depth below with specific tactics on linking out, but in general, you only have something to gain when you’re linking out. Doorway pages are typically large sets of poor-quality pages where each page is optimized for a specific keyword or phrase. In many cases, doorway pages are written to rank for a particular phrase and then funnel users to a single destination. Target 500 to 1,000 words per post without sounding spammy or repetitive. Trust me — 500 words is not difficult when you know your business inside and out. I am already at 1,500 words for this post (unless my editor breaks out a Ginsu knife). Also, publish frequently. Try one post per week until you get the hang of writing and blogging. Then bump that up to twice per week. Join popular online forums and post valuable comments and discussions with links back to your site. This can get others to do the same if they like what they see.
Aim to be in the top 3 positions, not just in the first page
Search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo use complex, evolving algorithms to call forth relevant results for search queries. And with trillions of web pages online, there’s a lot of competition. That said, there are a number of fundamental things you can do to make each page of your website more appealing to search engines. With local SEO you can showcase your business information directly to consumers who are actively looking for businesses like yours, and achieve an incredible reach throughout your local area. The intent of web users searching on their mobile devices will be different from the intent of those searching the web on their desktop. The same SERP principle applies. Most mobile web browsers are looking for something fast, such as where to get something, directions to a place, how to fix something or how to get a hold of someone. Google’s SERPs for them will be different from someone searching the web on their desktop. If you make sure people want to visit your site, have great calls-to-action and prepare for mobile, you’re already on your way to a well-optimized website, the holistic way!
When using SEO on your website, resist the temptation to include common misspellings of your keywords to increase hits. Most search engines today are smart enough to fix users’ mistakes before the search even begins, so traffic will not increase using this method. Instead, your site will appear unprofessional and untrustworthy to visitors. Search engine results are in a constant state of flux as rankings for individual pages and sites go up and down, outdated content fades and new pages are published. That means you'll probably notice a normal ebb and flow in your site rankings, especially if you're lower down in the results. To optimize your search engine results it is important to make your URL easily identifiable. Include words that are relevant to the site as opposed to numbers and symbols. People will recognize those keywords in the URL, and are more likely to click on your link if they think it will bring them to a relevant page. Local search success can be achieved by SEO. Although traditional advertising can still play an important role in marketing, for small businesses with limited budgets, local SEO can be a highly effective, low-cost alternative to other paid marketing methods. Most tools you use to build websites make it super easy to add important image tags, like alt tags. Both search engines
and humans (those who look at a web page’s code) can read the information in image tags. It’s just one more way to include relevant info on your website.
Today’s consumers want it all

SEO-ing your web content is a great way to generate easy traffic. That being said, you won’t get traffic instantly by writing a few blog posts.
Writing quality content means writing original content
Google is pretty good at understanding the general context of a site’s content. Starting a mobile strategy will take time and work, but the payoff is worth it as more people will continue to search and browse the web on their mobile devices. Often, the best SEO strategy is to focus on long tail terms—search terms that are highly specific, relevant, and with strong buying intent.
With Meta tags, focus on the top, most important pages first
Over the past 10 years, search has gotten a whole lot better. If you’ve been in the industry long enough, you remember the days of keyword stung articles and link building. Having no website presence can make you miss out on numerous opportunities for your business, but having a negligible presence won’t do you any good either! Whenever a user searches the web for a particular keyword, they are basically in the hunt mode. At this hunt mode, the users have an eye for acting on quicker, to-the-point information information which is provided by the Search Engines through their SERPs (Search Engine Result Page). Create profiles for your business (and include a link to your website) on major directory sites such as Google My Business, Yelp, Angie’s List, Yellow Pages, and other listing resources associated with your industry. A lot of people and businesses will pour money into a professional website only to find out that visitors won’t magically begin appearing on their site. Google will send people looking for information on a topic to the highest quality, relevant pages it has in its database.
